Gypsy Jewel Collie Young Female in Little Rock, Arkansas

My story
Gypsy Jewel has come into our program after running loose for about a week before we could get our hands on her.

Somehow she was able to avoid being killed in traffic!

Obviously dumped and frightened, she finally just walked up to a man in the neighborhood and turned herself in!

The instant our foster mom met her, she said, ""Oh, my, a collie!""

Foster dad, however, couldn't see that in her at all, but the vet agreed, this girl is a smooth-coat Collie mix, possibly with some hound in her DNA.Once in captivity, Gypsy immediately fell in like she had been living in her foster home forever and we quickly realized that she had definitely been in a home prior to being dumped.

She was a little nervous the first few days, now she's just one of the pack!

Gypsy knew exactly what a doggie door was and she also knew what a sofa was!

She is 100% house trained to a doggie door and even when the doggie door is closed, she has had no accidents in the house.

She loves EVERYONE ... some people she loves too much!

Gypsy is a young girl, probably just over a year old and she can be a little rambunctious which might prove to be too much for a very young child, although she does mind well ... very well, in fact, just a snap of the fingers usually is all that is needed.

She rides great in a car with no vomiting or even drooling and she walks very well on leash.

She is also crate trained.

She's not crazy about the crate, but she will go in and lie down ... she might pout a bit!

Even though she's a big girl who came to us at 50 pounds, she really needs to gain a little more weight and should probably weigh about 60 pounds when she gets filled out ... we are working on that! This dog would LOVE another young dog to play with and is really enjoying a young puppy in the home.

The old dogs don't really care for her and they are constantly correcting her exuberance ... she's okay with their correction ... no backtalk at all!

:)Gypsy has been fully vetted and is ready to find her forever home.
